Immediate ImpactsWhen Hitler bombed Britain he had two major intentions, to lower morale and destroy the aircraft factories. When The Blitz was over morale was higher than before. Surviving this ordeal it seemed had brought the country together and given the people a can do spirit that otherwise would not have been the case. Although some people had morale lowered by having jobs and homes destroyed, the people unified to try to rebuild the fallen cities together, as one country. The boosted morale eventually was a leading factor to the Allies winning the war. Morale is always a factor in wars as the higher the morale, the harder people are willing to work.

Modern DayThe London Blitz is not one of the well known battles of World War II. However, to Londoners it will always be an important part of history. A few bits of the history have survived in the form of pop culture. The popular campaign of "Keep Calm and Carry On" was a campaign during The Blitz to help boost morale during the air raids. Now these posters are used with phrases of every type such as "Keep calm and love kittens". Even though The Blitz itself is not a big event little bits of its legacy are still around today.
